The Golden Globes

I am feeling a little deprived. So it's time for a Dose of Fashion! This week I will explore the looks seen on the Golden Globes Red Carpet. As we know the only thing better than a Fashion Week show for the reputation of a designer is for your pieces to be seen on the crimson carpet of an award show. It doesn't get much bigger than the Golden Globes and high profile Actresses and Actors. Many of the looks seen on the carpet fell somewhere in the middle of being Aesthetically Brilliant and Completely Blind, unaware of how to dress ones self. So here it is the 10's. The Top 10  female ensembles.

The Top 10 Female Fashions

Number 10

Tina Fey

Tina Fey dressed elegantly in her navy blue gown by L’Wren Scott. The color of the dress against her skin makes her look very fair. The cut of the dress looks great on her curvy body.It draws attention to the hips in a very pleasant womanly way. The not so great thing about this dress is how it takes away attention from the chest and places it onto the midsection. With such a great hair style, placing a chunky necklace with silver in it would bring the eye back to the beautiful collar bone, neck and eyes. The bear neck made the look incomplete. All in all, This is one of Tina Fey's most successful looks.

Number 9

Jane Lynch

Black just doesn't get old. I flip out whenever I see Jane in a dress. It is so opposite of most of her characters to wear a long flowing dress. I wasn't digging the little stringy pieces scattered on the bottom half of the dress. the top half, however, is a winner. The belted midsection area slimmed the waist and the absence of a necklace was perfect for the bejeweled neckline of the black gown. The only way that this ensemble could be any better is if she styled her hair straight back with some curls in the back. This way, it would be as wonderful to see her going, as it is to see her coming.

Number 8

Sandra Bullock

This dress by Jenny Packham is to die. I agree with the airy fabrics  and grey and silver embroidery. It's kinda 20's inspired and just makes me think, this is what a star should wear. Where this look went wrong is the hair. The bangs pulled the look out of the top 5 and made her look too young for the dress. Everything else, the accessories, the hand bag, looked superb with the dress.

Number 7

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Ms. Zeta-Jones looks stunning in her draped green gown. Michael Douglass is doing a great job of standing next to and not getting in the way of thew dress. The hair, make up and accessories is great. However, it looks as though she is wearing a astro-turf. If the color of the gown were different, lighter, maybe this dress could be taken more seriously.

Number 6

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman looks polished in her minimalistic gown. She is clean, prim, proper and pressed. The little bit of shine from the sequence type overlay and the green pin but her hair falls flat. What's a red carpet look with out the red carpet-red hair?

Number 5

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis graces the red carpet with a bold striking forest green perfectly draped dress. I love the way it flows down her back in an elegantly dramatic way. It is contoured to her body perfectly. Who needs a purse or a necklace with a dress like that? It was reported that Vera Wang made this dress in 4 days. Now that is expertise and passion.

Number 4

Olivia Wilde

This Gown is a dream crafted by Marchesa. It looked absolutely stunning on Olivia Wilde. Every stitch of that dress is a piece of heaven. This gown, in combination with those gorgeous golden spiky, open toed, zip-up Louboutins was a little much. However, individually the pieces work wonders. Good job, Ms. Wilde!

Number 3

Julia Stiles

Well now, Julia Stiles is definitely back. She shows us how a woman should blossom with this Romona Keveza gown. I had completely forgotten about her until I saw this dress. Then I looked at who was wearing the dress. My eye goes straight to the short train, to the derrière, to the back and ruffles then straight to the face. This black dress made me want to know, who is this girl?! I guess I gotta catch up on Dexter.

Number 2

Scarlette Johansson

Again, I love the fabrics Saab used to create this piece. It is full of life, the bead work and embroidery is effervescent  and playful. Scarlette Johansson complements the dress so well, with her shape, bright face and wind swept hairstyle. This outfit was well played.

Number 1

Anne Hathaway

I really enjoyed this dress on Anne Hathaway. It is made by Armani and it just gave me the shivers. I love the color. I love the geometric elements. I love that she cant even think of accessories because of the high neckline and the glitzyness of it all. I love how the entire back of the dress is gone... and replaced with a simple sheer piece. I have heard that the raised shoulders are uncharacteristic of Armani, but who said designers direction couldn't change. This dress is different and it draws all the right attention to Hathaway. This to me, is the most brilliant ensemble of the Golden Globes. To me, Anne is the nights big winner.
