The Golden Globes: The Honorable Mentions and The Golden Globbs

This is the fun part of viewing fashions. Seeing where the Golden Globs fell short.

The 10 Golden Globs

Number 1

Julianna Margulies

This dress is a cake-sleep. It looks like Margulies is wearing a black strapless one piece bathing suit and a powder pink sarong. Completely not in season and inappropriate for this high class event.

Number 2

Emma Stone

I almost did not recognize her with the blonde hair. What I don't like about this look is the length of the sleeve and the color of the dress. I love the close necklines this season, but it looks as if shes wearing a long t-shirt or nightie. The orange color of the gown blends in with her tan complexion. I do agree with the purse selection.

Number 3

Gabouey Sidibe

I have seen Gabourey do better than this. This dress looks like a bathing suit cover-up. I can understand that it would be hard for a plus size person to find attractive clothes;but thats why we have assistants and stylists and designers. You got to make it work.

Number 4

Jo Champa

Animal print...Bland accessories...Lack luster ensemble and a waste of breath.

Number 5

Helena Bonham

I love her expression and creativity. avante garde dress! mix-matched heels! Its mad! But it works for Helena Bonham, My hat goes off to her.

Number 6

Jennifer Lawrence

This dress is over done for the red carpet. It cannot be appreciated in this arena with such grand standards. Paired with a jacket and fedora  this dress might get a passing grade. It looks like a lot of work.

Number 7

Christina Aguilera

Christina looks like a burlesque star. This dress has the potential to be a great dress. The nude color works against the dress making it low class and inexpensive. If the dress was forest green or red and embroidered black, then the Aguilera would have been competing with the best of the best of this year's looks.

Number 8

Amber Riley

This dress is contoured nicely but, the overly shiny fabric choice is a big no. If it was chiffon or jersey fabric, then the dress would have come out to be so much better.

Number 9

Julianne Moore

What can be said about this embarrassment. This dress would be nice, if you edit out that poofy brides maid shoulder and choose a fabric that wrinkles less. The color is wonderful and that jeweled neck piece is  nice, but it looks unfinished because of that shoulder and sleeve. It is too much, in the wrong places.

Number 10

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman looks joyful as she beams down the red carpet, with child. The only issue with this dress is that awfully tacky red flower on her bosom. This dress could have won me over, if that flower wasnt there. The gown's color is beautiful with her skin and the soft fabric accentuates her maternal shape. It's lovely.

Honorable Mentions
Blurs in the crowd

Dianna Agron

Lea Michele

January Jones

Cheers!

The Golden Globes Continued

Red carpet events are a good time to show America what you got. Show off a little bit. Show that your dedication to Theater, Music, Production, Managing is paying off. These events are the pay-offs and the play-offs of the year. I showed you which women, in my viewpoint, excelled at giving a good visual performance. Now it is time to show you which men came with style and who left their ability to edit, at home. Here are the 5's.

The Top 5 Men's Wear on the Red Carpet

Number 5

Kevin McHale

When it comes to mens wear, it's the little touches that make the suit into a work of art. Kevin Mchale's polka dotted suit has a confident style and personality that I haven't seen on the red carpet. The big framed glasses looks great with the coat. I call it quirky chic'.

Number 4

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. looks all american in this beautiful grey suit. The red tie and handkerchief bring the eye back towards his neck, face and his stunning wife. Well done.

Number 3

Robert Pattinson

Mr.Pattinson looks quite fine in this navy blue Gucci suit. Do you see the detail??!! The fine stitch work. The color of the fabric goes great with his eyes. It kinda melts you, a little bit.

Number 2

Jeremy Renner

Hurt locker? Can you say, Swag locker? His looks is highly refines and finished. The little black bow tie and cuff links is a nice touch to the classic look.

Number 1

Matthew Bomer

The perfect amount of matte and shine in the coat and collar. Matthew Bomer just looks so perfect and crisp. Like the prince from a fairytale. What more can be said?

The Bottom 4 Menswear on the Red Carpet

Number 4

Sleidy (Seal and Heidi Klum)

Usually, I am all for self expression. But, as a supermodel, I expect more of a fashion sense from you, Heidi. I also expect you to dress your husband as well. I am sorely disappointed. i'd expect this look to be worn in an amateur drag competition. Take Seal's tacky, cheap boots with you.

Number 3

Darren Criss

I appreciate creativity and going against the grain. However, I appreciate good taste and accessories that complement the pieces a lot more the half-assing a handsome suit.

Number 2

Justin Beiber and Friend

Individually, Justin and his friend and semi-disastrous in their outfit choices. Put them together, erase Beiber's shoes and his friend's toy glasses and there you have it! A perfect outfit.

Number 1

Paul Giamatti

Paul looks like he doesnt wanna be there. There is an absence of self. He looks very sloppy.

The Golden Globes

I am feeling a little deprived. So it's time for a Dose of Fashion! This week I will explore the looks seen on the Golden Globes Red Carpet. As we know the only thing better than a Fashion Week show for the reputation of a designer is for your pieces to be seen on the crimson carpet of an award show. It doesn't get much bigger than the Golden Globes and high profile Actresses and Actors. Many of the looks seen on the carpet fell somewhere in the middle of being Aesthetically Brilliant and Completely Blind, unaware of how to dress ones self. So here it is the 10's. The Top 10  female ensembles.

The Top 10 Female Fashions

Number 10

Tina Fey

Tina Fey dressed elegantly in her navy blue gown by L’Wren Scott. The color of the dress against her skin makes her look very fair. The cut of the dress looks great on her curvy body.It draws attention to the hips in a very pleasant womanly way. The not so great thing about this dress is how it takes away attention from the chest and places it onto the midsection. With such a great hair style, placing a chunky necklace with silver in it would bring the eye back to the beautiful collar bone, neck and eyes. The bear neck made the look incomplete. All in all, This is one of Tina Fey's most successful looks.

Number 9

Jane Lynch

Black just doesn't get old. I flip out whenever I see Jane in a dress. It is so opposite of most of her characters to wear a long flowing dress. I wasn't digging the little stringy pieces scattered on the bottom half of the dress. the top half, however, is a winner. The belted midsection area slimmed the waist and the absence of a necklace was perfect for the bejeweled neckline of the black gown. The only way that this ensemble could be any better is if she styled her hair straight back with some curls in the back. This way, it would be as wonderful to see her going, as it is to see her coming.

Number 8

Sandra Bullock

This dress by Jenny Packham is to die. I agree with the airy fabrics  and grey and silver embroidery. It's kinda 20's inspired and just makes me think, this is what a star should wear. Where this look went wrong is the hair. The bangs pulled the look out of the top 5 and made her look too young for the dress. Everything else, the accessories, the hand bag, looked superb with the dress.

Number 7

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Ms. Zeta-Jones looks stunning in her draped green gown. Michael Douglass is doing a great job of standing next to and not getting in the way of thew dress. The hair, make up and accessories is great. However, it looks as though she is wearing a astro-turf. If the color of the gown were different, lighter, maybe this dress could be taken more seriously.

Number 6

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman looks polished in her minimalistic gown. She is clean, prim, proper and pressed. The little bit of shine from the sequence type overlay and the green pin but her hair falls flat. What's a red carpet look with out the red carpet-red hair?

Number 5

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis graces the red carpet with a bold striking forest green perfectly draped dress. I love the way it flows down her back in an elegantly dramatic way. It is contoured to her body perfectly. Who needs a purse or a necklace with a dress like that? It was reported that Vera Wang made this dress in 4 days. Now that is expertise and passion.

Number 4

Olivia Wilde

This Gown is a dream crafted by Marchesa. It looked absolutely stunning on Olivia Wilde. Every stitch of that dress is a piece of heaven. This gown, in combination with those gorgeous golden spiky, open toed, zip-up Louboutins was a little much. However, individually the pieces work wonders. Good job, Ms. Wilde!

Number 3

Julia Stiles

Well now, Julia Stiles is definitely back. She shows us how a woman should blossom with this Romona Keveza gown. I had completely forgotten about her until I saw this dress. Then I looked at who was wearing the dress. My eye goes straight to the short train, to the derrière, to the back and ruffles then straight to the face. This black dress made me want to know, who is this girl?! I guess I gotta catch up on Dexter.

Number 2

Scarlette Johansson

Again, I love the fabrics Saab used to create this piece. It is full of life, the bead work and embroidery is effervescent  and playful. Scarlette Johansson complements the dress so well, with her shape, bright face and wind swept hairstyle. This outfit was well played.

Number 1

Anne Hathaway

I really enjoyed this dress on Anne Hathaway. It is made by Armani and it just gave me the shivers. I love the color. I love the geometric elements. I love that she cant even think of accessories because of the high neckline and the glitzyness of it all. I love how the entire back of the dress is gone... and replaced with a simple sheer piece. I have heard that the raised shoulders are uncharacteristic of Armani, but who said designers direction couldn't change. This dress is different and it draws all the right attention to Hathaway. This to me, is the most brilliant ensemble of the Golden Globes. To me, Anne is the nights big winner.
